Meet the Staff
Karla Carwile, MA, MA, LCPC, DCC
President and co-founder of OnePatient Global Health Initiative, Ms.
Karla Carwile is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, with a
Psychology degree from the University of Illinois (UI-S) where she also
teaches undergraduate Psychology. In addition, Karla has earned advanced
degrees in Human Development Counseling and INO-Disability Studies
(UI-S). In addition, Karla has completed post-graduate work in
Educational Leadership and is completing a Doctorate of Philosophy
degree in Psychology with special emphasis on the Biopsychosocial
Aspects of Health. As co-founder and President, Karla’s primary role is
to provide oversight for OnePatient Global Health Initiative. She is
responsible for outreach programming, mental health assessment, overall
strategic planning, financial and staff management, organizational
development, program operations and clinical compliance.

Daniel Ivankovich, MD
Co-founder and Consultant at OnePatient Global Health Initiative, Dr.
Daniel Ivankovich is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Feinberg
School of Medicine’s Honors program. A fellowship-trained orthopedic
trauma surgeon and spine specialist Dr. Ivankovich attended top
post-grad fellowship programs at RUSH (Adult Joint Reconstruction),
Northwestern (Adult Spine Trauma) and the Rehabilitation Institute of
Chicago (Spinal Cord Injury). As co-founder and consultant, Dr.
Ivankovich’s primary role is to provide medical and clinical oversight
to the Medical Services division of OnePatient Global Health Initiative.
He's seen over 100,000 patients and performed over 5,000 surgeries in
some of the most disparate areas within the country. He is responsible
for clinical compliance, musculoskeletal health and wellness, as well as
healthcare policy creation and implementation.

Samuel Cordova, PA-C
Sammy Cordova is a Certified Physician Assistant having trained and
graduated from the Cook County Hospital/Malcolm X College Physician
Assistant program. Sammy’s clinical experience as Chief Orthopedic
Technician and Physician Assistant at many of Chicago’s safety-net
hospitals make him uniquely qualified to provide outstanding care to all
patients, without discrimination. Sammy has special interest in the
underserved needs of the Hispanic community and strives to work as a
patient advocate, not only for this population, but for all he serves.
Sammy Cordova is a Certified Physician Assistant having trained and
graduated from the Cook County Hospital/Malcolm X College Physician
Assistant program. Sammy’s clinical experience as Chief Orthopedic
Technician and Physician Assistant at many of Chicago’s safety-net
hospitals make him uniquely qualified to provide outstanding care to all
patients, without discrimination. Sammy has special interest in the
underserved needs of the Hispanic community and strives to work as a
patient advocate, not only for this population, but for all he serves.
Jessica Alvelo, MA
Jessica Alvelo is the Clinical Manager for OnePatient Global Health
initiative. As a Medical Assistant trained at Olympia College, Jessica
is currently pursuing an advanced degree to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Jessica comes to OnePatient with significant experience in all facets
of Orthopedics, Pain Management, Workmen’s Compensation and
Administrative/Clinical oversight. A clinically skilled team member,
Jessica works with several of the local training programs to provide
clinical oversight and supervision to a host of students completing
Extern and Internship requirements.

Thomas Rosen, PA-C

Technician and Physician Assistant while at many of Chicago’s safety-net
hospitals make him uniquely qualified to provide outstanding care to all
patients, without discrimination. In addition, Thom has extensive
experience with the pediatric population and is a staunch patient
advocate. Thom is dedicated to serving the needs of all patients.
